The acupuncture worked for about 20 minutes. As I lay there with the pins in my hands and feet, my appendages felt warm and liquid and relaxed. The acupuncturist (who talked too much if you ask me) said I’d know when I was done, and that seemed to be the point when I started toContinue reading “What ails me”

Hamlet’s Dresser
I’m listening to a great audiobook called “Hamlet’s Dresser.” It’s a memoir that caught my eye at the library and I checked it out to see if it actually has anything to do with Hamlet. It does. The author (who is the reader) is a Shakespeare aficionado who enjoys reading to old people. (He usesContinue reading “Hamlet’s Dresser”
My job’s so hard
Like, I have to decide which of these is the best picture of sunflowers. Or Or
Only pins in the neck can cure me
I’m in day 4 of excruciating neck pain. Have discovered why I never see professional photogs with their cameras around their necks. I do it so I won’t drop the thing. No more. Am waiting for my insurance to give me the OK on acupuncture treatment.
Dance dance
For the record, I think Sabra will win. Although Lacey’s the better dancer, technically. She’s amazing. I like all four finalists; only Neil would surprise me if he won, but he’s surprised me already. I found him rather annoying at the start of the season. I couldn’t figure out why he didn’t get cut beforeContinue reading “Dance dance”
So many blackberries
Can you believe some people pay for these things? Why, around here, it’s like they grow on trees! I like to eat them with vanilla ice cream and Hershey’s dark chocolate syrup. Or Heath Bar magic shell. Whatever’s on hand. Today, I’m trying Pioneer Woman’s cobbler. And may drizzle some chocolate syrup over it
Belle of the balls
You can see that she needed me to buy her that new pink ball, right?
Getting back on the bloody horse
Had a bit of trauma at the blood bank yesterday. First, there was some concern that my iron count was too low, but they tested my blood and pronounced me good to go. During those five minutes, I decided I wasn’t even going to try to donate any more. Saved lives be damned, I don’tContinue reading “Getting back on the bloody horse”
Three things I did not enjoy about seeing the Simpsons on the big screen
The stupid kids movie trailers. The phony laughs from the male moviegoers, who want to make sure everyone else in the theatre knows that they got the joke. Not being able to press the TiVo instant replay button to see how the hammer got stuck in Homer’s eye. Other than that, it was fan-diddly-tastic!
So outdoorsy
When did this transformation happen? Having determined that $99 is the best price for the Mystic Peak hiking boots, I returned to Joe’s to buy them. And had to buy a T-shirt, socks and a soccer ball (for the dog) while I was at it. I impulse shop at a sporting goods store. The weirdContinue reading “So outdoorsy”
