Temple of the Dog

I recently had Lasik surgery.* Contact lenses had become really uncomfortable, so I preferred wearing glasses, but they interfered with my ability to take pictures using a DSLR. (Not to mention they got rained on and fogged up all the time.**)

That’s one of the reasons I’ve been slacking on taking pics of my pups.

No excuses now. Here’s the first batch of post-Lasik pics!

*Lasik is amazing, by the way. I highly recommend it. Find a good surgeon who’s done lots of surgeries. (I wouldn’t go to a discount place, but that’s just me). If you’re in the Pacific Northwest, go to Restore Vision Centers. The procedure couldn’t have been smoother, they were very calming, and they had chocolate and valium. Nothing but good things to say about the whole deal.

**I went on my first post-Lasik dog walk in the pouring rain on Sunday. It was magical to be able to see in the rain. It was also very cold and wet.

  1. Good for you! My mom suggests mono vision lasik if you can make that work. Now she can have her other eye done for reading if she needs it since her eyes weren’t that bad. She had glasses, hated them, therefore started to never wear them lasik is a miracle!

  2. Awesome! I’m glad it went well for you! I would love to do it as well but have no funds. Glasses get annoying and I keep getting Episcleritis so I had to stop wearing my contacts.

  3. Congrats on the surgery! I’m glad it worked out so well for you. The pictures look great and I’m going to have to check into the chocolate and valium, vision center, lol!

  4. These photos are gorgeous! Lasik surgery is like a miracle. My husband had it over 10 years ago; he was practically blind as a bat before Lasik and immediately after it was like he had Superman vision! An experienced doctor is a must. Happy post-Lasik picture taking!

  5. Great pup pics! I had lasik done about 10 years ago. So happy I did! And I definitely agree – go to someone who’s done a ton of them! (I went to the guy who’s done some of the Padres here in SD. You can’t really go wrong going to someone that pro athletes trust with that stuff!)

But I did not get chocolate.

And the paperwork I had to fill out before hand was VERY scary (listing every tiny to huge thing that could *possibly* go wrong).

  6. Love the pictures! My eyes are pretty bad – as in I walk into things when I don’t have them on. I wear glasses and most of the time don’t mind them. I’m glad to know the surgery went so well. Might consider Lasik in the future
