Mia’s been doing better when we leave her outside during the day. (I’ve written before about her penchant for eating doors inside.) But pretty soon it’s going to be cold and wet out there, so we renovated our backyard shed for her comfort.
I didn’t take any before pictures, but trust me, there was a lot of crap in there, and the outside was an ugly yellow with white splotches where every nail went in. I’d long thought we should just tear the whole thing down, but it turns out it’s a perfect place for Miss Mia to feel safe and warm and dry, but not confined, when we’re not home. She still sleeps inside and is with us whenever we’re home. I’d take her with me everywhere if I could.

Looks like a cozy place. That’s a great puzzle toy to keep her busy. Golden Woofs
And I thought my boys were spoiled! Mia has her very own condo?! That really does look good for our pending Northwest rainy season.
Does it have a kitchen? My mom is too scared to allow us to be outside if she is not home, but if it works for you guys that is great and it is nice she has a good shelter.
It scares me too, which is why I resisted for so long. But she was getting increasingly destructive inside, with the apparent goal of getting outside, so I finally got the message. No kitchen… but she does like to lie under the barbecue on the patio!
So, she gets her own room?!? She’s so lucky! It looks perfect. Happy WW
Looks good to me!
What a nice solution for Mia!
It’s nice that you took the time to build this condo for Mia. Maybe one day she’ll outgrow her destructive ways. I had a big GSD named Bear who had terrible separation anxiety. He was destructive if I left him home alone for even a short time. Somewhere around the age of two he slowly outgrew his anxiety and became one of the very best dogs I’ve ever had.
It’s certainly looks spacious enough. Love the door treatments, probably helps with bugs. I hope she outgrows her chewing destructive fetish soon. I applaud your efforts to finding a temporary solution.
I think it’s so cool that you’re able to find a solution that works for her! And Mia certainly looks happy to have her own digs. Every princess deserves her own castle! 😉
What a great use of space!
